My 18 year old niece just began her freshman year at Loyola Marymount in L.A. I sent this book in her 1st care package of the semester and she loved it! She said it was hilarious, informative and well written with her gender and age group in mind. She said she plans to read it again and again throughout the school year. I recommend this for any teenage girl about to enter or newly entered into college.

She completely contradicts herself many times, and write either blatantly obvious cliches like "don't be afraid to try new things!" or just plain stupid advice like "wait until you get there to clothes shopping, so you can see what other people are wearing." The style is written such that one would think her target audience is ten year olds rather than 17-18 year olds. Over all, a painfully awful read. Please don't waste your time and money.

I received this book as a high school graduation present a few years back and was slightly disappointed. I liked that this book focuses on girls, since we have different apprehensions before college and different needs once we get there. But there was some advice in the book that a girl should not listen to (i.e. the book says to dump your high school boyfriend before going to college), which should be based on personal feelings and beliefs.

I don't recommend reading this book. I don't agree with the tips. The tips are a bit immature. I'm not a party girl and this book makes it seem like college is all about partying, guys, etc. College should be about education!!!.....not the social life.
