Product Description

Take Your First Step Toward True Evolution

Ever wonder why you repeat the same negative thoughts in your head? Why you keep coming back for more from hurtful family members, friends, or significant others? Why you keep falling into the same detrimental habits or limiting attitudes?even when you know that they are going to make you feel bad?

Dr. Joe Dispenza has spent decades studying the human mind?how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioral patterns over and over. In the acclaimed film What the Bleep Do We Know!? he began to explain how the brain evolves?by learning new skills, developing the ability to concentrate in the midst of chaos, and even healing the body and the psyche.

Evolve Your Brain presents this information in depth, while helping you take control of your mind, explaining how thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings?including ones that make you unhappy. And when you know how these bad habits are created, it's possible to not only break these patterns, but also reprogram and evolve your brain, so that new, positive, and beneficial habits can take over.

This is something you can start to do right now. You and only you have the power to change your mind and evolve your brain for a better life?for good.

3 out of 5 stars Scientific Explanation of mind power and healing   November 14, 2008
I am already a believer in the power of the mind.

I know we can change our lives with thought power and I know we are capable of self healing. This book has very complex and lengthy scientific explanations.

If you really want in depth SCIENCE of Mind then this book will deliver.(510 pages worth) Evolve your brain starts out as an autobiography becomes a technical text book and then follows with interviews, throw in some philosophy for good measure and then in conclusion how-to techniques.

I don't think we needed all the brain anatomy information. For an easier read minus the strong scientific basis, I would rather recommend Mind Power by John Kehoe. It is a summarised version and far more practical read.

5 out of 5 stars WAY too technical but still worth it   November 11, 2008
Dispenza seems to want to make sure that we're all up to speed with brain physiology and have a very clear idea of how the brain functions. So he uses about 3/4 of the book doing so. If you're a normal human being, this will drive you crazy if you try to read it page for page.
I recommend that the reader skips all that technical junk and start reading around page 390. The meat of the book is in this final section and IT is the reason I purchased this book. This is the truly valuable stuff; why YOU probably purchased this book, to improve yourself by changing your thinking and feeling.

5 out of 5 stars Infinite Sea of Potential   October 25, 2008

Before attending a seminar this past summer given by Dr. Dispenza, I read this book and found it as fascinating and life altering as the seminar itself. I find myself returning to this book for inspiration and to remind myself that I am not simply flesh and blood but an amazing dynamic living organism. Where emotions do not need to rule my actions or thoughts. Discovering how the mind works and processes thoughts and actions is one of the most profound and powerful tools you can have in creating and living the life you want - not one that is riddled by fleeting emotional ups and downs.

Two other author's works I highly recommend are by Ariel and Shya Kane. The Kanes' work is based in their technology called "Instantaneous Transformation" where neutrally observation of unwanted behaviors, without judging, can have a quantum shift not just in regards to that behavior but in all areas of your life. The Kanes books "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Life", "Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment" and "How to Create a Magical Relationship" and their #1 internet radio show called "Being Here" on The 7th Wave Network channel on Voice America.com are all simply brilliant.

To quote Dr Dispenza "in this infinite sea of potentials that exist around us, how come we keep creating the same realities?" With accessible and insightful works like his and the Kanes you don't need to keep creating unwanted or unsatisfying ways of being or living in today's world.

5 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable read!   September 14, 2008

Dr. Joe Dispenza is a very eloquent writer and puts scientific research together with anatomy and physiology in very informative and enjoyable book. I recommend it highly to anyone who likes to learn about details and wants their own thoughts to work for them.

2 out of 5 stars Only if you are interested and have little knowledge of the brain   September 1, 2008

If you already have basic knowledge of the nervous system, this book is elementary and tiresome. The story is intriguing, but is wrapped up in the first couple of chapters, followed by long winded explanations of very basic concepts. I feel like it may be beneficial to those who have no previous knowledge of the brain, its function and anatomy, and are interested in learning about it in a little more detail than the average person. Definately not for those who have taken even a basic neurophysiology course, though.
