I have to start by saying that I have followed SARK since the first book came out. I even joined some Bodacious Wild Succulent groups. Much of what SARK wrote was inspiring and opened the windows to new awareness. However, this book? I was so excited especially since I just finished Bird by Bird and wanted more books about writing. SARK's book was definitely fun to look at BUT it was empty and laid flat. 3/4s of the book is an introduction to the book with no real meat. The best of the book was the last couple of pages about the other creators and what inspires them and the links to different website. The activities were kind of fun but not very different from any other book that offers the same. I then decided, which I never do because I LOVE books, to give it to a friend. Well, this friend is colorblind and couldn't even read many of the sentences. I will give it to the book drive so I can feel that the 15 bucks was worth it. I am so sorry. I love SARK and all she has done for people and how she has opened the world of play, but this book didn't cut it. It's the first time I didn't dog-ear pages to remember quotes or ideas.
A new spark September 16, 2008 The SARK book, Juicy Pen, Thirsty Paper has brought me a new creative spark. I always enjoy wrting but have lost interest over the years. I had the priviledge of meeting SARK. She is an inpiration and a wonderful mentor. (and she's cute to);-) I don't want to go on to much it will go to her head. This book, Juicy Pen, Thirsty Paper is a great guide, both practical and inspirational, for anyone who wants to get in touch with their creative side. We all have our stories, I thank SARK for being the guide to help me tell mine.
One of SARK's Best!! September 16, 2008 I have had writer's block for years, it seems, and this book snapped me right out of it. Simple advice and inspiration are the key - I felt accomplished with small steps instead of trying to write a certain number of pages, and I was able to silence my inner critic.
It really works! September 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I haven't even gotten all the way through this easy to read and wonderful book of SARK's. I've been savoring every page. I used some of her exercises in my journal, and I started writing "pieces," based of her inspiring words. Then I couldn't stop writing. This book has become my personal coach. I already have two stories about to be published! Susan, you are so inspiring and empowering!

Journey Inside the Heart of Creativity August 26, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The title of this book alone is inspiration enough to get our own creative juices flowing, from the author/creative artist/workshop facilitator/coach who has done so much to encourage and nurture the artist in all of us. SARK's magic reaches into the secret place that yearns to share our stories with others. She guides us along the path to the fulfillment of our own dreams.
