Excellent! December 30, 2008 Received the book in a timely manner; it was in awesome condition. Fair price.
Not for Beginners December 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is no logical organization to this book. The authors skip back forth, use terms that they say they will define later and assume a much higher level of understanding than a beginner will have. Nowhere in this book could I find a step-by-step description that would allow a beginner to sit at his or her computer and arrive at the point proclaimed by the authors.
Given that PE6 opens with a Tools Menu on the left side, it would have been logical to describe these early on rather than the hodgepodge scattered throughout the book. The chapter on working with layers is close to useless. The authors should have started with a simple example of how layers work and gradually added more complex processes.
I cannot recommend this book to anyone, especially beginners.
Note: PC Only December 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm sure this is a good book. I opened it up, and there on the first page, it says that PSE6 is only available for PC, not Mac OS X. I noticed that nowhere in the item description does it say this (except for one review waaay back that I didn't get to). So, here I am with a book for PC's as I stare at Photoshop Elements 6 here on my iMac. I just ordered the missing manual. So - if you're a Mac person, this isn't for you.
Easy to follow directions November 11, 2008 I have found this very easy to follow and learned much about using my Photoshop program. Well worth having to answer questions and help you make better use of your program.
Love my Dummies Books November 2, 2008 When ever I am in doubt about learning something new the first thing I look for is a "Dummies" book. The Photoshop Elements 6 Dummies book came through just like all the rest. I use it any time I need to find out how to do something quickly. Even though I take an on line class in how to use Photoshop 6, I keep my "Dummies" book beside my computer. When all else fails I can get the explanation I need from that book. Great Book!!!!
