Not for those that already have a grasp of the spanish language November 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was dissapointed to find that this book had very little medical terminolgy. I already am proficient in the language and just needed some medical terms and vocabulary to help me in my work. I definitely don't recommend this book for those that aren't starting from the very beginning (alphabet, numbers, etc...)
Quick and easy with good quality September 29, 2008 It was very simple for me to ge tthis book. The book was in fabulous shape and it was at my house within 2-3 days.
Not exactly what I needed September 2, 2008 I work in labor and delivery and was hoping for more Spanish terms to teach my patient proper pushing techniques, all of the required admitting questions, etc.
THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!! August 7, 2008 PLEASE IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THIS BOOK!!!! Our medical facility, along with nearly 100 others in the Southern California area believe this is the finest Spanish-English medical book on the market. We found no others that compare, and we reviewed DOZENS. If you're in the medical field, buy it today, and if you live in Southern Cal, you probably already own the first or second edition. Why do you think the book/CD's are in the third edition? BECAUSE IT WORKS AND PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD KNOW IT. You not only have the best phrases available at your fingertips, but you also learn how the Spanish language is spoken and understood. Better yet, you get tips on dealing with the Latino culture in a medical setting. Trust me, we've done all the research -- this is the best Spanish book for health care professionals on the market today.
Better for doctors and nurses June 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a pediatric occupational therapist and I felt this book was too geared towards medical based terminolgy and diagnostics rather than what I was looking for. Despite, it is well laid out and did provide some nice phrases to use. It definitely won't make you fluent and knowing a bit about Spanish before picking it up definitely helps.
